Happy Halloween, Nakatsu Campus!

Note: This article was co-authored by Lilly S (G7) and Mel K (G5).

For the 2023 Halloween event, both the MYP and PYP student governments worked together to create a Halloween event. Both worked together to create a schedule of fun activities for all students to enjoy!

For the costume contest, we had 4 to 5 contestants from each grade. Each grade voted for five people who had the finest costumes to enter them into the contest. The votes you had to give were for PYP best, MYP best, most creative, most scary, and most funny.

In the photo booth, many people brought their friends to take some astonishing photos and make some valuable memories. It was exhilarating to see people smiling and laughing while we took the pictures! These pictures came out sterling, and all the students left the room with a smile on their faces.

The escape room was a place where people had to find a clue to get out of the room they were trapped in for six minutes. Some students were disappointed with the escape room because of the lack of horror and clues. Others were disappointed because there was no haunted house this year. On the other hand, some people claimed that the escape room was a success.

The grade 7 and 8 students organised a trick-or-treating event for the EC students! While candies were too complicated, taking into account the allergies in all of EC, they substituted stickers, which the kids didn't seem to be too disappointed with. Some of the students were scared of the older kids' costumes, so they were kind enough to take off anything that might be too scary before handing out the stickers. Soon enough, even the kids who were super afraid at first were smiling after receiving their stickers!

To conclude, we all had a very fun Halloween event here at OYIS. Even if we may not have been able to do some activities, just seeing what our friends wear has brought delight to this special, memorable Halloween event.
