The Other Day

The other day,

I dug inside my bag

and scooped a pile of gems and snails.

The other day,

I wrote on my receipts and my picks

the same words, over and over.

The other day,

I sat at my desk and watched

ladybugs sprawl over eraser bits.

The other day,

I finally sorted my worries into my jewelry box

and lied down on my bed,

only to wake on the opposite end.
