Under the Sun Fruits

Under the glaring sunshine,

plums, apples, bananas, grapes,

all grew like light.

Taking them out,

away from the tree,

squeezing their juice,

drinking their cool and sweet water,

smelling the scent of their life,

and tasting the warmth of the sun.

so fresh are the tart plums,

so crunchy are the syrupy apples

so tender, the bananas are,

and so puckering and sweet are the grapes.

Fermenting others,

Putting them in pots of tea,

giving as gifts,

the rewards are so endless.

Yet also, drying the fruits,

under the same sun,

the one that nurtured them--

into a dried body.

The juice will be gone,

their seeds will be tiny,

the softness of the flesh--

would turn like a rag.

And the sweetness won't be so fresh—but convenient, it will be.

The pieces, slices, will become thinner,

but humans would get their variety~

the choice of fresh

or dried fruit

authenticity, or convenience

liquid or jam

every type that they wish,

every type there will be.
